About Riverside District

The Riverside District is a community like no other in Houston.

This remarkably unique neighborhood enjoys close proximity to the cultural, educational and financial hubs of Houston, while offering its residents, gently winding streets, the dapple of sunlight through towering trees, social diversity, and a fascinating, 80-year history.  As these hubs continue to grow, the Riverside District is positioned to become one of the city’s most prized inner-loop communities.

Located less than a mile from the Texas Medical Center and in close proximity to Rice University, Texas Southern University, the University of Houston and the University of St. Thomas, the Riverside District’s location is ideal for medical professionals and educators. Additionally, downtown Houston, the city’s world-renowned Museum District, and beautiful Hermann Park with its zoo are all only a few minutes away.

The Riverside District is home to some of the city’s most celebrated citizens. Many professors, doctors, local and national political figures, attorneys, judges, professional athletes and business and religious leaders reside here.

As a historic, urban neighborhood, the Riverside District is enjoying a renaissance – a rebirth. Grand, old estates and charming, architectural bungalows mingle graciously with new luxury homes and moderately priced single family homes. Signs of remodeling can be seen throughout the neighborhood.  There is much to be saved in this community; some of the historic homes are the creation of famous architects such as John Staub, Bridsall Briscoe and Frank Lloyd Wright. Current residents welcome the revitalization of their community.

Indeed, the Riverside District welcomes all its residents with open arms.

Welcome home.
